The UK TV channel GB News is under fire after Rachael Blackmore was nominated for this week’s “Greatest Briton” title.
Last night presenter Dan Wootton asked panelists to nominate a person for the title, with the Killenaule woman being put forward by Dawn Neesom after her success at the Cheltenham Festival last week.
Many Irish people took to Twitter to let the broadcaster know that the history making jockey is in fact from Co. Tipperary in Ireland.
In recent years UK broadcasters have been called out for referring to Irish people as British when they’ve been successful in their profession.
