The finalists for Blas na hÉireann 2021 have been announced with 17 Tipperary Food producers making the list of finalists. Blas na hEireann.
The Irish Food Awards is the biggest competition for quality Irish produce on the island of Ireland. The finalists shortlisted from Tipperary across a range of different categories are ABP Foodgroup, Ayle Foods, Blanco Niño, Cashel Blue, Cooleeney Cheese, Devil’s Bit Farm, Galtee Honey Farm, Glenpatrick, Hickeys Bakery, James Whelan Butchers, Magners Farm, MY…Tasty, Oakpark Foods, O’Donnells Crisps, Stapleton’s Bakery, The Tipperary Cheese Company Ltd., and Tullahay Farm.
The awards weekend will take place virtually again this year on October 2nd. Now in their 14th year, the team at Blas na hÉireann have worked harder than ever this year to make sure the awards went ahead, moving the blind-tasting judging system from the campus in UCC to Blas headquarters in Dingle to work within Government guidelines and the constraints of social distancing.
This year has seen record entry levels from producer right across the island of Ireland.
The awards will be announced over the course of the day on October 2nd on the Blas website www.irishfooodawards.com and across social media channels. As part of the virtual event The Blas team are also planning an exciting line up of online presentations and workshops as part of The Blas Backyard which is supported by Bank of Ireland and Taste4Success
