Tipperary county Board’s search for a new hurling manager will take longer than expected with news today that their first choice is not available.

Liam Cahill has confirmed that he will be remaining in his present role as manager of Waterford Senior hurlers. Liam Cahill from Ballingarry said that it was an honour to be approached about the Tipperary job and that it was a difficult decision to make.

He said that he and his colleague Mikey Bevans would remain with Waterford for at least another year. There had been rumours yesterday that the Waterford county board had offered the Tipp man another 3 year contract for the position in an attempt to retain his services.

The Tipperary Managerial role is vacant following Liam Sheehy’s decision to leave the post
