A special meeting of Tipperary County Council has been underway today.

Because of the current guidelines on social distancing, the meeting was being held by video conference, linking the Municipal District Offices of Tipperary, Thurles and Carrick on Suir and the Civic offices of Clonmel and Nenagh.

The items under discussion included the authorisation of an overdraft facility not exceeding €25,000,000 for the year ending December 31st, 2020.

Councillors were also asked to give consideration to authorising a loan facility for the purposes of advancing mortgages under the Rebuilding Ireland Home Loan Scheme. That facility would not exceed the sum of €3,600,000.
