The Mayor of Limerick Kevin Sheahan, is paying tribute to rugby legend Paul O’Connell describing him as ‘an incredible ambassador for Limerick.’
Paul O’Connell’s international rugby career will come to an end after this autumn’s world cup.
The IRFU and Munster Rugby have confirmed that the Freeman of Limerick will wear the green shirt for the last time during the tournament in England.
The’ve also said that his request to be released early from his contract – which is due to expire in June 2016 – is being granted because of the exceptional contribution he has made to the sport.
