Tipperary County Council has identified a permanent draining option to deal with the recurring flooding of Littleton graveyard.

The council has outlined how it has pumped all flood waters from the graveyard and completed a hydrology report.

That report recommended two option to deal with the issue affecting the graveyard.

The option they have decided upon involves the construction of a thrust bore pipe system.

The gravity drainage option which would see a thrust bore pipe constructed under the old N8  which would discharge surface water to drains on private land.

It is seen by the council as sustainable solution which is feasable from a construction perspective and involves a low level of maintenance work.
