Gardaí are acting on reports of bogus workmen trying to gain access to peoples homes by falsely claiming that they are carrying out work on behalf of particular companies.
As a result, gardai are advising homeowners to thoroughly check the identity of anyone who calls to their home claiming they are authorised to do so.
