An elderly woman has been killed and another female injured in a road traffic accident near Thurles this afternoon
The single vehicle collision occured at Two Mile Borris near the junction for Thurles at around 2pm today when the car hit a fence.
The woman’s body has been taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick
The passengers injuries are not said to be life threatening.
The section of the road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
