Uisce Eireann To Investigate Waste Disposal Pipes Issues On The Cashel Road

Personnel from Uisce Eireann are to visit the Cashel Road area of Tipperary town tomorrow morning to further investigate the issues with the waste disposal pipes.

Several residents have reported the matter to both Tipperary County Council and Uisce Eireann but both reject responsibility for the issue as they say the problem is on the resident’s property in shared drains.

The issue has escalated in recent weeks with sewage now flowing across gardens and appearing in showers and toilets in some of the houses as the disposal pipe that connects the 40 houses seems to be blocked/collapsed or damaged at some point between number 28 and 23.

The HSE Environmental Health Office has also responded saying the issue is one for Uisce Eireann as it has no statutory remit in relation to public drainage or wastewater services. “Such matters are governed by Uisce Eireann, and advice on drain blockages can be found on their website www.water.ie.
