Limerick Hurlers made history yesterday in winning the Munster Senior Hurling Title for the 6th time in a row. This year the team are also in line to become the first ever Hurling Team to win 5 All Ireland Titles in a row.
Limerick defeated Clare on a scoreline of 1-26 to 1-20 and are now through to the All-Ireland Hurling Semi Final on July 7th where their opponents will be one of Offaly, Cork or Dublin. The team is managed by John Kiely the Deputy Principal in the Abbey School in Tipperary town.
The Munster final was played in FBD Semple Stadium Thurles yesterday but the start of the game was delayed by 30 minutes due to a power outage. The outage temporarily disabled the Hawk-Eye score check system, the public address system and the scoreboard.
