Tipperary county council has published details of plans for remediation works at the former Tipperary town land fill. The land fill, located north of the town is closed.

The works must be carried out to comply with Environmental Protection Regulations.

A series of Compulsory Purchase Orders have been issued to enable the works and objections on the Orders can be made until June 30th to the office of An Bord Pleanála. Some of the land is being acquired permanently and some temporarily to enable the works to be completed. In all a total of 7 parcels of land are involved.

Details of the Compulsory Purchase Orders are available to view in the council office in Tipperary Town and Clonmel or online on the Council’s Consultation portal at this link here.

Owners, Lessees and occupiers of the lands involved will receive individual written notice of the Compulsory Purchase Orders. In cases where the owners and lessees are unknown the notice will be posted at the relevant location – this is the case in respect of two of the orders involving a total of 15,445 square metres of land.

The landfill location is marked in red on the attached map.
