160 Riders To Pass Through West Tipp As Part Of Rás Tailteann Cycle Race

Approximately 160 riders will set off today on the Rás Tailteann Cycle Race.

Tipperary features prominently in this year’s 5 day race with the cyclists pasting through West Tipperary today, a stage finish into Cahir on Friday afternoon and a stage start in Horse and Jockey on Saturday morning. There are rolling road closures in the areas as the race passes through.

The first stage begins in Tullamore and is expected to pass through Riverstown at 12.45pm, Borrisokane at approximately 1.15pm, Ardcroney at 1.29pm  Birdhill at 2.10pm, Newport at 2.25pm Caherconlish at 2.45 and onwards through  Ballyneety, Holycross and Bruff to arrive in Kilmallock at approximately  3.30pm.

The times are an approximate arrival time as shown –   these  could vary due to weather, traffic and the speed of the peloton. 

Spectators are asked to avoid making contact with the cyclists in case of causing a collision. Over 100 race officials are involved and the overall event including media and support personnel will see over 500 people travel around Ireland for the event.
