Investigation Underway Into Incident Of Suspected Criminal Damage In Clonmel

Gardaí in Clonmel are currently investigating an incident of suspected criminal damage which occurred at the HSE Modular Homes Site, Heywood Road, between midnight and 1am, in the early hours Tuesday 21st May.

A mobile lighting system was damaged by fire in the incident. Investigating Gardaí are currently following a number of lines of enquiry.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have observed this incident occur, or noticed suspicious behaviour in or around the HSE Modular Site, Upper Heywood, Clonmel between 8:30pm on Monday the 20th and 1.30am on Tuesday 21st May 2024.

Gardaí are appealing to any drivers with “Dash-Cam” footage recorded who were in the Upper Heywood Road area, Clonmel between these times.

The site is to be used for 82 modular homes for refugees from Ukraine – a group under the banner “Clonmel Concerned Residents” have been protesting at the site to encourage workers to leave.
