Blood Clinics Open In Two Towns In North Tipp

People in Tipperary are being asked to support two Blood donation clinics in the coming days.

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service(IBTS) is calling upon both new and existing donors to lend their invaluable support in meeting the community’s needs.

Due to the recent bank holiday the service has missed an entire day of blood collection and there is another bank holiday scheduled for June 5th.  This has come at a time when the demand for blood is already 6% higher than it was this time last year.

The IBTS is highlighting that donors contribute directly to saving lives and supporting medical treatments that rely on blood products.  New donors are especially welcome to ensure the service can meet the needs of a growing population.

Appointments can be made by calling 1 800 222 111 – existing donors have the added convenience of booking online. Full details of the pre donation screening is available on the IBTS website at

On Sunday May 12th a donation clinic is scheduled for the Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh with appointments available between 11.50am and 3.10pm.

Newport Community Centre will host a clinic on May 15th with donation appointments available between 4.50pm and 8.10pm.
