The Tipperary Public participation network is to host 5 online election hustings events in the coming weeks starting with the Tipperary Cahir Cashel MD on Monday May 13th.
The events will be online and all candidates will be invited to take part with each one asked a set of questions submitted by PPN community Groups. The candidates will be given the questions ahead of time. During each zoom event viewers can submit questions via the chat function and if time allows the chair may put the questions to the candidates. The event is billed as a chance to listen to the candidates rather than to experience a debate format.
A similar hustings event will be held for Nenagh MD on Tuesday May 14, Carrick on Suir May 20th, Thurles on May 27th and Clonmel Borough District on May 28th. Each of the online events is scheduled to run from 7pm to 9pm. The PPN is also encouraging voters to ensure they are registered to vote. Applications for postal votes must be submitted by May 11th and May 20th is the final date to register in time for the June 7th Elections.
