Lowry To Back Minister Simon Harris For Taoiseach

Deputy Michael Lowry

Tipperary TD Michael Lowry will vote in favour of the appointment of Simon Harris as Taoiseach on Tuesday next when the Dáil returns from the Easter Break.

Deputy Lowry says he met with Minister Harris and found that the Minister was willing to act on a number of issues of concern to the regional Independent TD.

The issues include UHL where Minster Harris committed to using every possible workable short term solution until such time as bed capacity at the hospital increases.

A new 96 bed block is due to be completed in 2025 and second 96 bed block is to go to procurement soon.

A commitment to support the farming community through the current poor weather was also secured as was a commitment to support small businesses including restaurants and cafes.

Deputy Lowry says Simon Harris will outline his policy objectives at the Fine Gael Ard Fheis in Galway at the weekend and also in the Dáil next week.

Arrangements have also been put in place  to open communication channels to the Government to enable deputy Lowry to progress projects  of importance to voters in North Tipperary.
