Works To Upgrade Footpath Linking Tipperary Town To Limerick Junction Starting Tomorrow

Work is to commence tomorrow on upgrading the footpath that links Tipperary town to Limerick Junction.  The project secured funding of €200,000 under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme in 2022 but work was delayed as Eircom was laying ducting along the route for it’s service operations.

The work is to be undertaken by local firm English Tarmac.  The work will commence at the Plaza area at 8am tomorrow Wednesday March 13th and each day the work is scheduled to take place until 5pm. During this time the footpath will be closed to the public.  It is expected that the work will be completed by March 22nd. The footpath will be open over the St Patrick’s Day weekend.

Drivers on the N24 route between Tipperary town and Limerick are advised to drive with caution in the area and to expect some pedestrians as some local residents commute via the footpath to Limerick Junction and vice versa for access to the train service and for work in the local hospitality businesses.
