The search for the Tipperary Rose of Tralee 2024 has officially begun this week, with reigning Tipperary Rose of Tralee Aisling O’Donovan launching the search. Due to the Pandemic, there has not been a Tipperary Rose since Aisling O’Donovan was selected in 2022 and interest is expected to be high for the 2024 competition.
Tipperary Rose Aisling O’Donovan says “Entering and becoming the Tipperary rose has been one of the proudest moments of my life so far, being able to represent my county on a local, national, and international base is a fantastic feeling that words can’t even describe.”
“I would recommend the festival to anyone, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and so much more than what you see on tv. You get to meet so many amazing people, do some amazing things, and become an inspiration to so many girls and women, so I would say to anyone that has ever taught about becoming a rose, don’t miss out on something great just because of fear, it’s your time new year new you, just apply.”
The 2024 edition of the competition will see some changes within the structure of the Rose Selection with a new direct entry into the Final night. There will now be no regional qualification process to the festival, the chosen of the Tipperary Rose will go directly to the stage interview with presenter Dáithí Ó Sé at the Dome in Tralee. These new changes also bring an increased to the age limit to 29 provided you have not reached your 30th birthday by the 1st of September 2024. This years changes will mean there will only be a Tipperary rose once every two years, with the next Tipperary Rose of Tralee selection to be in 2026.
The chosen Tipperary Rose will travel “via the Rose tour” to the international festival in Tralee in August and will take part in all the parades, official events, and numerous public engagements at the festival from which 32 Roses will appear in the live selection broadcasts.
