Local Election Candidate Jacqui Kinahan Finnan revealed yesterday that she is currently in hospital after having a cardiac issue on Tuesday morning.

Ms Finnan shared on her social media yesterday that she has had surgery to insert a stent in her heart and is recovering well.

Ms Finnan says her doctor has advised a modified diet and exercise to support her recovery. The cardiologist also informed Ms Finnan that she was lucky that she woke up with the pain in her chest, back and jaw. A friend at the house for a planned day of canvassing was able to drive Ms Finnan to her GP Practice. The Doctor carried out an ECG test and ordered an ambulance. Ms Finnan says it was blue lights all the way to Limerick where she was taken to surgery for the stent to be inserted.

The care was provided at UHL and Ms Finnan remains in hospital for tests and observations expressing gratitude for how the incident happened and thanks to all of the healthcare professionals providing her care. Ms Finnan says her canvas of the Tipperary Cashel Local Electoral area will be completed by her team.
