Four public information sessions are being held this week as plans for the N24 Waterford to Cahir Transport upgrade are to be revealed as of 2pm today. Those wishing to view the details released today are advised to click on the Consultations tab and then click on Consultation 2 – ARUP are to work on making the documentation and maps more easily accessible on the website.

Full details of the proposals from Consultants ARUP can be found on the dedicated website n24waterford2cahir.ie.

The plans will also be on display in Cahir House Hotel today, in the Talbot Hotel Clonmel tomorrow, in Mooncoin Community centre on Thursday and in the Carraig hotel Carrick on Suir on Friday. The public displays are drop-in sessions running from 2pm to 8pm at each location. Tipperary Councillors were given a briefing on the proposals last week.

A 300m wide possible route corridor has been developed. Independent Cllr Andy Moloney says at present the plans will impact on 7 residences between Cahir and Waterford. The next phase in the project is the completion of detailed design. Cllr Moloney says the proposed road is a double carriageway with a concrete median. Details about whether roundabouts or flyovers will be used for interchanges is yet to be clarified. Cllr Moloney also notes that after the design is completed the planning and tendering phases mean that it could be 2028 before construction would start if funding is provided.
