The Award was established in 1984 and aligns with the values of peace, non- violence and social justice and highlights the importance of diplomacy, negotiation and co-operation in resolving global issues.
Previous recipients include former South African president Nelson Mandela, former Irish President Mary Robinson and the 2022 recipient Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, the leader in exile of Belarus.
Nominations close on October 31st and should be sent to Martin Quinn, Hon. Secretary of the Tipperary Peace Convention, via email to [email protected] and include a brief resume of the nominee’s contribution to peace.
