Uisce Eireann is warning of some disruption to water supplies for some customers supplied from the Rossadrehid Water Treatment plant until Friday – these customers are on the Galtee Regional Public Water Supply Scheme. The company says repairs to mechanical faults at Rossadrehid Water Treatment Plant are complete – however networks need to refill and reservoir levels need to recover. Due to the size of the network it may take until Friday for normal water supply to fully return to some customers, especially those at the end of the network and at higher elevations.
Customers in the following areas: Ardloman, Cullen, Mount Bruis, Emly, Lattin, Kilross, Ballinard and surrounding areas may experience low pressure and/or interruptions to their water supply.
Uisce Éireann has arranged the delivery of an alternative supply of drinking water as of 2pm today(Wednesday) to the following locations – adjacent to Emly GAA Club, Lattin Village and Cullen Village. These tankers will remain in place until water is restored to all areas.
In all instances, customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure as per HSE advice.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from the company for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact the company on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. Updates will also be available on the Water Supply Updates section of the Uisce Éireann website – water.ie
