Gardaí Seize Dog & Pups In Thurles After Complaint About Conditions

A German Shepherd dog and nine pups were taken from a property in Thurles by members of An Garda Siochana.

Gardaí intervened following a complaint by a member of the public about the conditions the animals were living in which Garda describe as “deplorable”.

An animal welfare charity assisted with the rescue. There has been an outpouring for praise for the action of the person that raised concerns and the Garda response with many offering a home for the animals.

Animal Law Ireland, a not for profit organisation that works to raise awareness about animal welfare laws, has also commented on the case.

The organisation says it hopes there will be a prosecution and that given the expense on the animal charity involved in the rescue it hopes State Authorities are providing assistance.

Garda say their investigation is ongoing.
