My Open Library Building Access Panel – Tipperary Town

Tipperary town has joined Carrick on Suir and Nenagh Libraries in operating the My Open Library Service. The service enables members of the Library to have access to the library between the hours of 8am and 10pm seven days a week – for much of this time the library will be unstaffed.

The library member is able to access the building, borrow and return library items and use the computer and printing facilities.

Intending users of the My Open Library Service must complete a short induction training in advance of beginning to use the service and give a commitment to follow the terms and conditions of the service. Intending users must be 18 years of age and be a member in good standing for at least 3 months.

Tipperary county library service is hoping to expand the service next to Cashel library with the necessary access, communication and alarm systems along with the necessary training in place by the end of 2023. All future new builds for libraries will incorporate the My Open Library feature in the building design.

At present Tipperary town library, located in the Excel Centre, is open from 9.30am to 5pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The Library is open until 8pm on Tuesday and does not close for lunch any day. Tipperary town library is closed on Saturdays and Sundays making the My Open Library Service especially suitable for people seeking to visit the library at weekends
