Uisce Éireann along with Tipperary County Council are working to restore water supply to a number of areas in West Tipperary.

Ironmills, Dundrum, Gurtussa, Cappawhite, Kilmore, Gortnamoneen, Toem and surrounding areas are impacted as a result of a reservoir interuption overnight.

Uisce Éireann says its expected that works are will be complete by 2pm today with it taking 2-3 hours for supply to fully return.

The company says it understands the inconvenience of unplanned outages and thanks customers for their patiences.

Their Customer Care Helpline is available 24/7 on 1800 278 278.

The outage is the latest in a long list of disruptions to water supplies in the county.

Supply was restored to Emly yesterday following repairs to a mains burst near the railway line that occurred on June 7th.

Night time water restrictions are continuing in the Rosegreen area until June 16th and further restrictions are likely in the coming weeks.

Water supplies are reduced from 8pm until 8am the following morning.

The public are asked to conserve their water usage.

Low amounts of rain are forecast for the coming weeks and there is high demand for water at present putting sources and reservoirs under pressure to meet demand.
