March4Tipp campaigners are demonstrating outside the Excel Centre in Tipperary town as a Jobs and Training Event takes place. The event is due to be attended by the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection Regina Doherty.
Organised by the Education and Training Board and the Department, the jobs and training show aims to provide job seekers with information on supports, courses training and employment opportunities that are available locally.
However, the campaigners who have gathered outside the Excel today believe that the unemployment levels, job opportunities and the need for industry in Tipperary town are not being addressed properly.
They also maintain that a letter to job seekers which was sent by the Department appears to be a demand more than an invitation
