Tipperary Vintage Rally Group is to make a permanent date change for it’s two day event usually held over the Easter weekend.
This year the Honda Bike Run will take place on Easter Saturday as normal beginning at 2pm from the Plaza on the Limerick Road – all kinds of bikes and trikes are welcome to participate.
However, the Rally event featuring displays, vintage vehicles, traders and entertainment activities will now be moved to June 18th.
The current condition of the field is too wet and soft for the event to take place as planned on Easter Sunday.
Chair of the Tipperary Vintage Rally Group Jack Leonard says the committee met at the site and examined the location and unfortunately the event cannot go ahead on Sunday.
The group feel that moving to a date in June in 2023 and for future years is the best option for those participating, attending and the volunteers involved in the promotion and set up for the event.
The event has been running for 15 years and has raised a total of over €250,000 for the South Tipperary Hospice.
