Temporary Closure Of The Injury Unit For New Patients At Nenagh Hospital Due To Staff Shortages Today

564

Staff shortages led to a temporary closure of the Injury Unit at Nenagh Hospital to new patients today. Hospital management are asking any new patients who need treatment for minor injuries today to attend the Injury Units in Ennis or St John’s Hospitals. Patients scheduled for review in Nenagh today will be seen as per appointment.

The one-day closure affects only the Nenagh Hospital unit, which will re-open with a full service tomorrow, Wednesday March 1st, running from 8am-8pm as normal.

UL Hospitals Group is apologising  to everyone inconvenienced by this temporary closure, which it says is in the interests of patient safety. No other services at Nenagh are affected.

Injury units treat a wide range of non-life-threatening injuries unlikely to need admission to hospital.

Full details of the services can be found at  Injury units – HSE.ie.
