Ballinacourty Restaurant and B&B is to close due to what it calls “insurmountable economic conditions.”

The business has been in operation year round since 2001 – prior to that it operated on a seasonal business.

Situated in the Glen of Aherlow it is a rustic retreat and also a great location for those visiting the Galtees.

The operators are a close family group made of members of the Stanley, Flynn and Clancy families.

Management are thanking staff and customers for the many years of happy memories.

A post on the Ballinacourty House social media page is asking people to share memories of events at Ballinacourty house – which ranged from celebrations of christenings, communions, confirmations, weddings to post funeral gatherings amongst others.

The owners say their customers have been hugely loyal and they are honoured to have provided 22 years of service for many special occasions in their customer’s lives.

The owners are also asking people with gift certificates to use these by Sunday April  2nd the final day of operation.

The decision is a sad one to make according to the operators but all staff have been kept informed as the economic position changed to make it impossible for the restaurant to remain open.

The Caravan and Camping Park will continue to operate.
