5,928 People Registered Unemployed In Tipperary According To CSO Reports

The CSO reports that there are 5,928 people registered unemployed in County Tipperary for January. The seasonally adjusted total of people unemployed for January 2023 was 184,700 persons, down by 700 from December 2022. The 35-44 age group made up the largest number of those on the Live Register in January 2023 at 43,867 persons or 23.7%.

All counties saw an increase in the number of persons on the Live Register in the 12 months to January 2023 – the numbers are influenced by the arrival of refugees to Ireland and 22,877 people included in the total for January are Ukrainian refugees.

The counties that saw the greatest increase in the number of people on the Live Register in the 12 months to January 2023 were Kerry (41.7%) and Leitrim (36.8%). The counties with the lowest increase in numbers on the Live Register were Kildare (1.6%) and Tipperary (2.6%).

The number of persons on the Live Register for one year or more in January 2023 was 61,003 – down 11,644 from a year earlier.
