Funds totalling €45,000 have been allocated under the Public Works Minor Flood Mitigation Scheme for assessments at Coopers Lot in Cashel.

The funding application was made by Tipperary County Council. Flooding has been a problem in the area close to the Graveyard and the council will now place a tender for contractors to carry out studies.

The funds will be used for a geomorphological analysis, hydrological modelling and a modelling assessment at Cooper’s Lot, to develop a solution for localised flooding in the area.

The funding is allocated via the Office of Public works. Cllr Roger Kennedy has welcomed the funding announcement.
