Latest Daft.ie Reports Reveals No Tipp Town Properties To Rent

As the housing crisis continues the latest Daft.ie report revealed that there are no properties for rent in Tipperary Town – in the entire county there were only 16 properties for rent today.

These properties were located in Clonmel, Newport, Carrickbeg, Clerihan, Ballina, Ballinderry, Borrisoleigh, Templemore, Cappawhite, Cashel, Ballyporeen and one at the Gasworks in Thurles where a three bedroom is available for €1,100 per month.

A three bed in Clonmel has a rent of €1,350 while a three bed in Cashel has a rent of €1,500.

The most expensive one listed today is a five bed in Newport at a rent of €2,500 per month.

The lowest is a three bed BER exempt property in Templemore with a rent of €850.

The latest Report from Daft.ie shows an average increase of 12.6 per cent compared the same period last year.

The average market rent nationwide between April and June was €1,618 per month, up 3.3 per cent on the first three months of the year.

The increase in Tipperary is recorded at 12.3% while the average rent in county Tipperary is now €1,089.

Nationwide, there were just 716 homes available to rent at the beginning of August, down from almost 2,500 a year ago.

Compared to 2009, rental availability has fallen by 97 per cent nationwide.

Planning applications show that permissions have been granted for 43,000 build to rent units on which construction work has not yet commenced.

All sectors are facing shortages – students, refugees and those seeking to purchase affordable homes.

There are over 10,000 recorded as homeless at present in Ireland in addition to significant housing lists.

County Tipperary has over 3,500 people on the housing list.
