A student from Tipperary has secured a scholarship to Northeast Community College in Nebraska and will be starting there on August 16th.
Tipp Town Facebook page shared the great news that Megan Heffernan had secured a soccer scholarship to continue her education and love of playing soccer.
Megan grew up in Cordangan and attended St Ailbe’s Secondary School in Tipp town.
Her Soccer career began at the age of 11 and since then she has secured many honours including playing for Tipp Town FC, Wexford Youths and Tipp Town FC senior side.
The talented sportswoman also won several titles with Galtee Rovers in underage Gaelic football.
Last year she won the 2021 ETB Sportsperson of the year at St Ailbes School.
Megan travelled to Dublin and Edinburg for trials for the scholarship. Megan will combine physiotherapy studies with her soccer while in Nebraska.
