Tipp Town Gardaí ‘Go Purple’ To Raise Awareness Of Domestic Violence

Tipperary Town Garda Station are going purple today as part of a national initiative to raise awareness of domestic violence in Ireland.

Assistant Superintendent Ciara Lee says it’s important that victims of domestic violence are supported and that community partnerships between local domestic violence services and An Garda Síochána are strengthened.

A/Supt Lee believes we are stronger together and that she would like to remind the public that their door is always open if they wish to speak confidentially to a member of our station party.

Garda Michelle Prenderville made the purple ribbons and baked the purple cake which visitors to the station were invited to sample with a cuppa this morning.
