Staffing Issues Cause Delays at Dublin Airport

The operators of Dublin Airport are advising passengers to expect queues for security screening over the coming days and weeks due to staffing issues.

Over the weekend, passengers experienced delays which resulted in some passengers missing their flights.

Dublin Airport Authority implemented a voluntary redundancy scheme during the pandemic and now needs to hire and train staff – so far this year 100 new staff have been recruited – approximately 1,000 staff left during the redundancy scheme.

The DAA has urged passengers to allow plenty of time ahead of their flight, to check-in bags where possible and to carry the minimum amount with them when going through security.

Intending passengers are also encouraged to be at the airport a minimum of two hours before borading a shout-haul flight and three hours prior to boarding a long-haul flight.
