A fundraising drive to keep a martial arts and fitness club open in Cashel continues.

Martial Arts and Fitness Premier aims to raise 6,280 euro to pay off their premise arrears built up during the pandemic.

So far €3,312 has been raised through the GoFund Me.

It’s hoped that any left-over monies raised will can aid the purchase of new teaching equipment for their students.

The club has been teaching self-defence for both adults members from all over Tipperary for a number of years.

Speaking late last month to TMWR, Instructor John Duggan says if the fundraiser isn’t successful the group won’t be viable.

Mr Duggan says the group weren’t entitled to any sport or business government grants.
