Tony Black Chosen to Contest for Sinn Fein.

Sinn Fein Councillor Martin Browne will not be the only SF representative vying for a seat at the Tipperary/Cashel LEA in the forthcoming local elections.

Tipperary town man Tony Black will be joining him after he was selected at convention to contest the County Council elections.

Tony is from Lacy Villas, Tipperary town and is the son of Anthony Black and Fiona Brennan. Tony holds an honours degree in History and Religions & Global Diversity from UCC.

He joined Sinn Fein on his first day in college in 2008 and was a founding member of the Sean Treacy Sinn Fein cumann in Tipperary town the following year.

He was Chairperson of the Tipp Town Against Water Charges Committee and was instrumental in bringing a large demonstration on the issue to the streets of the town.

Tony is well-known in the local area for taking a stand on a number of other issues including Local Property Tax, increases in third level fees, among others.

He is also a player and former committee member with Tipperary Town FC.
