Greenway Would Give Tipp Town Tourist Base Status

A councillor from Tipperary town has welcomed suggestions that a greenway is built between Tipperary town and the Glen of Aherlow.

While the project, which would see a walkway stretching from the river Ara to the Christ the King statue, is far from getting underway, Cllr Denis Leahy has said that suggestions of this nature are important in giving Tipperary town an identity as a base for tourists who wish to explore the Galtees or the Glen of Aherlow.

The proposal was discussed at the latest meeting of the Tipperary/Cashel Municipal Council and received widespread support.
