Today, the Manager (Ann Power), Chairman (Pat O’ Brien) and Secretary (Mairead Horan) of Tipperary Mid-West Community Radio were at Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) headquarters to sign a 10-year radio license contract with the BAI.
Tipp Mid West Community Radio was one of three community or community of interest stations that signed new license contracts. The other two were Raidió Corca Baiscinn, serving South West Clare; and a community of interest service for the Christian community of Cork City, Life FM. The new license takes effect from August 1st of this year.
Speaking at the contract signings, Chief Executive of the BAI, Michael O’Keeffe, said: “We are very pleased to sign ten-year contracts with each of the three services today. Life FM, Raidió Corca Baiscinn and Tipperary Mid-West Radio have been operating for many years, each providing a valuable service based on community and community of interest access and the needs of the listenership it is licensed to serve. We wish each contractor continued success over the 10-years of the new contracts”
