Man Jailed Following Rossadrehid Drugs Find

A Co. Tipperary Garda operation targeting drug trafficking has resulted in a man being given a five-year prison sentence.

The sentence was handed down to Wesley Pause who was convicted for the possession of drugs with a value in excess of €80,000 with the intent to supply.

On May 3rd 2017, gardai arrested Mr Pause after discovering more than 100 cannabis plants at various stages of growth, during the search of his residence in Rossadrehid.

That search was carried out by gardai at Tipperary town garda station and members of the Divisional Drugs Unit as part of Operation Overwatch, which aims to reduce instances of drug trafficking and related criminal activity across Tipperary.

Mr Pause was sentenced to five years for the possession of drugs for unlawful sale or supply, and four years for the prohibition of cultivation of cannabis plants.

The sentences were backdated to May 3rd, 2017 as the defendant had been in custody since this date.
