60 new jobs are to be created in the north of the county as a medical software company expands its premises in Ballina, while in Thurles 50 people are to be hired over the next year and a half at AQS.
Technopath Clinical Diagnostics is investing €5 million to more than treble its manufacturing capacity in the Ballina plant to meet growing international demand for its range of quality control and software products for hospital and clinical laboratories.

The products are used in 110 countries globally.
The expansion process will result in the creation of 60 new jobs in the course of the next two years.  A number of the positions have already been filled.
In Thurles, AQS, which provides drainage, industrial and waste management services, is to undergo a multi-million expansion process.  The process will take place over the next 18 months, and will add 50 workers to its current workforce of 65 people.
