The proposed construction of 24 new social housing units in the north of the county has been approved.
Plans for 1000 units in total were announced by the Department of the Environment nationally at an estimated cost of €182.5 million.
€4 million of that has been put aside for projects in three areas of the county.
€2,100,000 will be spent on 12 units in Borrisoleigh; 6 units for Templetouhy, costing €1,100,000 and €700,000 is to be made available to assist Thurles Lions Trust Housing Association in the construction of 6 units in the town
