A lack of adequate supply has seen house prices in Co Tipperary rise by 1.38% this year, according to the latest figures from the Real Estate Alliance.
That increase has brought the average price for a house in Co Tipperary to €155,000.
However, in Dublin city and county, house prices fell by more than 6% because of various factors including rules introduced by the Central Bank which demand a minimum deposit from potential purchasers before a mortgage is approved.
Despite this fall in the capital, those hoping to live in commuter counties and the other larger cities across the country can expect to pay up to 4.58% more than they would have last December.
