A pilot scheme aimed at developing a new model for allocating additional teaching resources for pupils with special needs has been announced by the Minister for Education.
Two Co Tipperary schools have been included in the scheme.  In total, 47 schools – 28 primary and 19 post primary – have been chosen to participate.

The pilot is designed to test the allocation model currently recommended and assess how schools would manage to deploy resources to suit the needs of students. Scoil Naisiunta Na Hinse in Thurles will participate in the primary school aspect of the pilot programme, while St Joseph’s CBS in Nenagh is included the post-primary strand.  The pilot scheme will run the course of the 2015/2016 school year.
