Tributes have been paid to former Limerick County Councillor Mary Harty who died overnight. Ms Harty who lived in Pallasgreen, was diagnosed in October 2012 with Motor Neurone Disease.
She was first elected as a County Councillor in 1999 and she was chairperson of the local authority in 2012 when she was diagnosed with the disease.
Remembering his collegue this morning Fine Gael TD for Limerick Patrick O'Donovan said that with Mary's passing a light has gone out in East Limerick.
