MEP Phil Prendergast does not regret comment.


Co. Tipperary MEP Phil Prendergast has said that she has no intention of leaving the Labour Party after recently calling for the party leader to step down.

She said that while her comments about Eamon Gilmore’s suitability as leader of the party will make her a pariah in certain quarters she does not regret what she said.

She also rejected suggestions that her actions were motivated to increase her national profile
