Bid to tackle Tipperary Excel’s Centre financial problems.

Employees at Tipperary Town’s Excel Centre may see the number of hours they work cut in a bid to tackle the centre’s financial problems.

Speaking to Tipperary Mid West this morning, June Molony, PRO for the Excel Centre said that measures are to be put in place to deal with the debts owed by the centre.

These measures will include customer incentives anmong others.

However a meeting with staff is to take place on April 21st.

Ms Molony said that the meeting will look at a reorganisation of staff rosters and that it is possible some workers will see a reduction in their hours, but no job losses are foreseen.

The Excel is also to hold a public meeting on May 6th at which the fortunes of the centre will be discussed as will plans ensure its sustainability into the future.
