Six people remain in custody today after a total of twelve suspects were arrested yesterday as part of a garda operation into organised criminal activity.
Two people were released from custody not long after been arrested while two more were arrested on warrant and transferred to prison today a further three two men and a woman were released without charge.
A man was also arrested and detained this morning. He is aged in his 20’s and is being held at Thurles Garda station.
The operation involved targated an organised gang operating in the southeast region and the arrests were made in counties Tipperary ,Kilkenny and Waterford .
Those arresed are suspected to be responsible for a large number of burglaries during which a number of legally held firearms, and quantities of jewellery, cash electronic goods and other valuables were stolen.
As part of the investigation Gardai have recovered eight firearms in recent weeks in the Clonmel area.
