Extra ESB crew working to restore power to areas still without supply.

Six times the normal compliment of ESB staff have today been working at restoring power to the remaining homes in Co Tipperary who are still without an electricity supply.

According to a spokesperson for the company, 1,200 homes in Co Tipperary were without power last night and work to restore power to areas covered by depots out of Nenagh and Roscrea has finished.

The company now believes that all homes in Co Tipperary north of the line between Rearcross and Newport have had power restored.  Anyone without supply north of this line are asked to contact the ESB on 1850372999

Meanwhile crews have been working in the following areas Fethard Thurles Town Holyford Ballycahill Cappawhite Ballingarry and Littleton

Work is also continuing in Ardfinnan, Ard Goithe Cahir and Mullinahone.

The public is also advised that all ESB staff and contractors are required to carry identification with them and to feel free to ask for ID.

The public is further asked to use generators safely by ensuring they are isolated from the mains and to be concious of the risks posed by carbon monoxide which is emitted from the exhausts of these machines.
