A worker has been killed at Lisheen Mine near Thurles.
When mine rescue services arrived at the scene they found the driver of a loader trapped inside his vehicle after a rockfall.
The victim was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
An investigation into the incident has begun and the mine has been closed untill further notice.
